Lee Zoeller, a partner at the international law firm Reed Smith LLP, has been elected president of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation for 2009-2010.
The IPT is an international organization dedicated to promoting the uniform and equitable administration of state and local taxation of businesses. Zoellers duties as president will include participation in the institutes training schools, symposia and seminars held around the U.S. He will preside over meetings of the board of governors and, together with IPT administrative staff at the headquarters in Atlanta, direct the institutes many activities.
Zoeller chairs Reed Smiths state tax practice group in the firms Philadelphia office. He has represented business taxpayers in litigation before administrative boards and courts for over 20 years, providing multi-state tax advice to corporations on various state income, franchise, and sales tax issues.
