In his letter ("Disgusted by the Top 100 People," Nov. 2-15, 2009), Mr. Conrad might have also mentioned that no one in your Top 100 People is truly a practitioner. The American Institute of CPAs and its acolytes have done everything possible to denigrate the concept of a professional practitioner. We do not honor top auditors or tax accountants or academics. We acknowledge insurance agents, book salesmen, tax-shelter promoters and various administrative slugs. Virtually no one on the list has made any difference to me during my 30-plus years of practice.
