SACRAMENTO

Gallina merges in Burnett

Details: Two Sacramento, Calif., firms, Gallina LLP and Burnett + Co. LLP, have agreed to combine under the Gallina name. Steve Burnett, managing partner and founder of Burnett, will serve on Gallina's executive committee. Gallina has annual revenues of about $29 million and Burnett's revenues are approximately $6 million. Gallina plans to move its Sacramento office into Burnett's office in Rancho Cordova. Burnett has 32 employees, while Gallina has about 175.

COLORADO

ACM merges in Watkins & Schommer

Details: Anton Collins Mitchell has merged with Greeley, Colo.-based Watkins & Schommer, giving ACM a presence in Northern Colorado. Terms were not disclosed. Randy Watkins and Dan Schommer will continue to lead the Greeley office. With the merger, ACM now has a total of 11 partners.

FLORIDA

Stogniew and SCG merge

Details: Stogniew & Associates and Saltmarsh, Cleaveland & Gund merged in early October. Kristin Stogniew has joined the Tampa office of Saltmarsh as a shareholder.

ILLINOIS

GT acquires Huron's D&I unit

Details: Global CPA and business advisory firm Grant Thornton has acquired the disputes and investigations practice of Huron Consulting. Terms were not disclosed. Grant Thornton said 60 Huron professionals will join its economic and advisory services units in Boston, Chicago, New York and San Francisco.

SS&G merges in Ahlbeck

Details: SS&G completed a merger in October with Ahlbeck & Co., expanding the Cleveland-based firm's presence to Chicago. SS&G will add 22 staff members by merging in Ahlbeck, growing the firm's roster to 425 staffers. Ahlbeck principals Thomas Ahlbeck and Dirk Ahlbeck will assume the roles of co-managing directors of SS&G Chicago.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

INDIANAPOLIS

Murphy McClary and Horn merge to form Meridian

Details: Indianapolis accounting firms Murphy, McClary, Stover and Burnett LLC and Horn CPA Group PC have merged to form Meridian CPAs, a full-service firm that will be led by partners John McClary, David Burnett, Jay Horn and Michael Stover. William Murphy is serving as a consulting principal.

MICHIGAN

Lewis & Knopf to merge in Haggerty

Details: Michigan firms Lewis & Knopf CPAs PC and Thomas R. HaggertyCPA PC have combined forces under the L&K name. Lewis & Knopf employs 40 professionals in the Flint area. Thomas R. Haggerty CPA will retain its office in Brighton.

MONTREAL

MNP to acquire Montreal firm

Details: Meyers Norris Penny said that it would merge with Montreal-based firm WSBG, effective Jan. 1, 2011.

Terms were not disclosed.

The union will give MNP its first full-service office in Quebec. The firm currently employs some 3,000 people and operates in 50 locations across Canada.

NEW JERSEY

Cohen Doren joins Fazio Mannuzza

Details: Cohen, Doren, Addeo & Co. has joined Cranford-based Fazio, Mannuzza, Roche, Tankel, LaPilusa LLC, expanding its presence to Jersey City. Terms were not disclosed. Fazio Mannuzza has approximately 60 people and Cohen Doren will add another nine, including three principals: Elizabeth Doren, Joseph Doren and Felix Addeo. Cohen Doren's office in Jersey City will be the third for the combined firm.
