Mahoney Cohen Opens Miami Office

New York (Aug. 5, 2003) -- Top 100 New York accounting firm Mahoney Cohen is going national -- it opened its first out-of-state office this week in Miami.

The firm, which already has a satellite office of a financial services subsidiary in nearby Boca Raton, said it jumped on the opportunity when a respected firm in the area decided to dissolve, according to marketing manager David Reimer.

That firm, Kane Hoffman & Danner, is no longer in business, but Mahoney Cohen hired name partners Stephen Danner and Richard Hoffman as shareholders, and they will remain in Miami to help the firm grow its presence there.

"We saw an opportunity down there from both a corporate as well as a personal financial planning perspective," Reimer said.

Reimer said further expansion into new states is a possibility for the firm, which ranked No. 45 on Accounting Today's 2003 Top 100 firms list.

"Not at this moment, but it's not out of the question," Reimer said. "With everything that's going on in the industry and the last two year the best we've had revenue-wise, we may be looking to expand."

Mahoney Cohen specializes in serving the middle market with traditional accounting services, including assurance, tax, family office, management consulting and personal financial planning.
