Marcum Names Wilson Partner-in-Charge of the Southern California region.

Phillip Wilson has assumed the role of partner-in-charge at Marcum LLP’s Southern California market. He will be based in the firm’s Irvine office where he will also oversee all client services and operations in the Los Angeles office.

In addition to his new position, Wilson serves as national practice leader of the firm’s Tax Controversy Group, a role he took on after WilsonMorgan LLP and Marcum merged in July 2013.

Wilson has more than 25 years of CPA and business advisory experience including service as an IRS Revenue Agent. He focuses on developing and implementing tax controversy resolution strategies for individual and commercial clients.  Wilson also has experience in tax structuring for commercial and residential real estate developers. As a founding partner at WilsonMorgan, Wilson managed the firm’s tax compliance, tax consulting and tax controversy engagements. 

Wilson holds a Masters in Business Taxation from Golden Gate University.  He earned his BSBA degree in Accounting from Western Carolina University. He is a member of the AICPA and the CalCPA.
