Marcum Taps New Partner-in-Charge in LA

Neil Prasad has been named partner-in-charge of the Los Angeles office of the New York-based accounting and advisory services firm Marcum LLP.

The appointment becomes effective Friday. In his new role, Prasad will oversee all tax, audit and advisory services for Marcum clients in Los Angeles. He will also retain his management responsibilities as partner-in-charge of Marcum’s Los Angeles Assurance Services group and continue as a member of the firm’s SEC Services, National Alternative Investment and Retail & Consumer Products Practice groups.

Prasad has more than 16 years of experience consulting with clients on SEC policies, practices and procedures, and providing assurance services to publicly traded companies. He specializes in advising closely held entrepreneurial and investor-backed private clients, providing guidance on cash flow management, financial projections and forecasting, and accounting topics such as revenue recognition, purchase accounting, debt and equity transactions, and stock-based compensation arrangements.

“Neil Prasad has been instrumental in the development of Marcum’s Los Angeles office and is an outstanding choice to lead the continued expansion of our business in the future,” said Marcum managing partner Jeffrey M. Weiner in a statement.

A resident of Northridge, Calif., Prasad is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the California Society of CPAs. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from California State University, Northridge.

In addition to Los Angeles, Marcum's California region also includes offices in Irvine and San Francisco.
