Michigan Firms Merge

A pair of Michigan accounting firms -- Lewis & Knopf in Mundy Township and Rachor, Purman & Tucker of Flint Township -- have merged.Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The combined firm will operate under the name Lewis & Knopf CPAs.

Lewis & Knopf has operated in the Flint area for more than 70 years, also serving several business clients in the Genesee County area. Rachor, Purman & Tucker was formed in 1978.

Lewis & Knopf managing partner Thomas Shade told local newspapers that RPT had a business valuation expert, which was a key to his larger firm getting the deal done.

Both firms offer accounting and auditing, tax planning and compliance, health care practice setup and management and industry-specific consulting services.

About 1o RPT employees will join Lewis & Knopf's Mundy Township office, bringing the firm’s total number of full-time employees to 46.
