Sunnyvale, Calif. (April 23, 2003) - Micrel Inc., a manufacturer of digital integrated circuits, has filed suit against Deloitte & Touche, charging the auditor with negligence and making false statements to the company.
The suit, which did not specify monetary damages, was filed in California Supreme Court. In the suit, Micrel charged that Deloitte failed to perform its services "using ordinary skill and competence and in conformance with generally accepted principles for such work."
Micrel replaced Deloitte with Big Four rival PwC last year.
The suit was the second filed against a Big Four firm over the past week. On Friday, PwC was hit with a $2.5 billion suit filed by former audit client Amerco.
