Minnesota Accounting Firms Merge

Accounting firms Kern, DeWenter, Viere and Davich, Wilson, Morrow & Associates have signed a letter of intent for DWM to join KDV.

The merger broadens KDV’s portfolio of services and clients as it expands its presence in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis-St. Paul. Based in Bloomington, Minn., DWM specializes in accounting and consulting services in the health care, professional services and manufacturing industries. The merger is expected to be completed by July 1, 2009, with the existing DWM office to remain in the south Twin Cities metro area. Financial details were not disclosed.

“We were drawn to DWM because of its reputation as a trusted advisor to its clients,” said KDV managing partner Loren Viere in a statement. “They are an excellent complement to KDV in terms of expertise, culture, client base and commitment to client service.”

“KDV is a well respected firm and I’m confident our clients and staff will benefit from the additional resources that will be available to them because of this merger,” said DWM partner Don Wilson.

All of the employees from both firms will be retained with the merger, according to a spokesperson, and the combined firm will maintain a South Metro presence.
