MYOB Rolls Out AccountEdge 2004 Network Edition

Rockaway, N. J. (May 24, 2004) -- MYOB, developer and publisher of MYOB Accounting for the Macintosh and MYOB Accounting for Windows, announced the release of the AccountEdge 2004 Network Edition at the New Jersey Accounting Business & Technology Show.

AccountEdge Network Edition, which is OS X compatible only (minimum 10.2.8), includes key Mac OS X technologies, such as Rendezvous, which will enable users to connect to company files without needing to browse a network or mount network drives. When a user opens a company file, the software will discover company files across the network and provide a list of files that can be opened by selecting one. There won’t be a need to wrestle with file and folder permissions, to log into or make a connection to a server or to use the finder to browse the network for a file.

In addition, the machine that hosts company files can be used as a client, so that a dedicated machine to host company files isn't needed. The host computer can be the bookkeeper’s iMac or an xServe in the back office.

AccountEdge Network Edition costs $399 and is licensed for three users. Additional licenses can be purchased for $149 each or in a pack of five for $499.
