NASBA redesigns CPA lookup tools

NASBA ALD and CPAverify database screen

The National Association of State Boards of Accountancy has revamped its CPAverify.org and ALD.nasba.org websites for looking up CPAs and validating their licenses with a new design and more features to improve the user experience.

CPAverify.org is NASBA's CPA lookup tool that's free and open to the public. CPAverify contains official state regulatory data sourced directly from boards of accountancy to a central database. The website represents the first single-source national database of licensed CPAs and CPA firms. The redesigned site now offers a cleaner layout, faster navigation and better usability so individuals and employers can confirm CPA licensure and firm status more easily.

The Accountancy Licensee Database supports state boards of accountancy with their regulatory mission by providing a central repository for current licensee and firm information. NASBA's goal is to offer accurate, up-to-date licensing and disciplinary records for individual CPAs and CPA firms from each of the 55 U.S. jurisdictions.

With the new ALD platform, state board representatives can log in using their existing Okta credentials with no re-registration required. Updates include:

  • Improved license search functionality for faster, more precise results;
  • Access to different kinds of reports;
  • A streamlined interface for viewing information shared by other accountancy boards; and,
  • The ability to upload disciplinary records for both in-state and out-of-state licensees practicing under the mobility rules.
