Nashville Firms Team on Entertainment Clients

Entertainment and sports accountant Mike Vaden and his Vaden Group have allied with regional accounting and business advisory firm Joseph Decosimo & Co. to form a business management practice aimed at the entertainment industry and high-net-worth individuals.

The new practice, Decosimo/Vaden, will service clients in Music City and around the country from the practice's offices on Nashville's Music Row.

Vaden (pictured), a CPA, assists entertainment clients with royalty accounting, concert tour accounting, tax planning and compliance, investment analysis, catalog valuation and financial management. His clients include award-winning recording artists, writers and producers, as well as business executives, athletes and doctors.

In addition to the new practice, he said the Vaden Group would still maintain its identity and remain active providing services for clients while affiliated with Decosimo. "Musicians, entertainers, producers, publishers and record executives need lots of special services and special attention," said Vaden.

He joins Decosimo as a principal and director of Decosimo/Vaden. Also making the transition with him are 10 other employees from his firm, including tax director of entertainment services Jennifer Lane and business management tax supervisor Vicki Bracey, who are serving clients from the firm's new Nashville office. Decosimo's team from the firm's Brentwood location, led by principals Flynn Doyle, Ken Lowery and Ronald Williams, has also united with the Decosimo/Vaden professionals in the new Music Row offices.

The combined practices have formed an office with approximately 25 professionals and staff, providing traditional and specialized audit, tax and business advisory services to clients in a variety of industries.

Joseph DeCosimo & Co. was ranked 84th on Accounting Today's 2008 list of the Top 100 firms, with $35.81 million in revenue.
