National CPA Health Care Advisors Appoints Ferber as President

Lee Ferber, a partner at Gettry Marcus, was appointed president of The National CPA Health Care Advisors Association for the 2014 calendar year.

Ferber will oversee efforts to provide educational and networking opportunities to 60 HCAA member firms, totaling over 120 individuals, who provide specialized accounting, tax and consulting services to the health care industry.

“The health care market is experiencing unprecedented consolidation and change.  Medical practices are being approached by hospital systems, super-groups, IPAs, and other health care providers who are looking to acquire or partner with physicians. This has created a situation where Medical practices now have to make very important strategic decisions as to how they will practice in the future,” Ferber said in a statement. “With this change comes greater responsibility for the CPA professionals who serve the health care industry.  I am pleased to continue my affiliation with HCAA and look forward to increasing opportunities for members to share knowledge, resources and engage in meaningful discussion about these issues.”

Farber, who is also a partner-in-charge of the firm’s business advisory group and co-chair of its health care consulting group, has been a part of Getty Marcus since 1999.

Prior to being named president, Ferber held the roles of vice president, treasurer and secretary at HCAA. He provides accounting, tax, audit and consulting services to group practices, ambulatory surgery centers, diagnostic & treatment facilities, urgent care centers, single and multi-specialty "super-groups," and other ancillary service providers.
