New England Firms Merge

Kahn, Litwin, Renza & Co., has merged in Sullivan Shuman & Freedberg, allowing KLR to build its presence in the Greater Boston area.

SSF, based in Natick, Mass., joined KLR effective Jan. 1. KLR already has offices in Providence and Newport, R.I. The firm has now grown to 160 employees, including 30 new employees from SSF.

"We are excited to expand our services and better serve our Massachusetts clients with the addition of the team at Sullivan Shuman & Freedberg LLC," said KLR managing director Alan Litwin (pictured) in a statement. "Both firms see the opportunities in the Boston market, and with like-minded leaders, will bring the resources needed to better serve current and future clients."

"The technology and human capital resources at KLR enhance our ability to offer clients value-added solutions," said SSF managing member David Shuman. "Clients, and the staff that serve them, will benefit significantly from the synergies generated by this merger."

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
