New Jersey Firm Acquires Neighboring Practice

Bartolomei Pucciarelli LLC has acquired the practice of CPA Sharon Lamont, a former president of the New Jersey Society of CPAs.

Terms of the deal, Bartolomei Pucciarelli's second acquisition in the past two years, were not disclosed.

"The acquisition sustains the aggressive growth rate we achieved last year, which was approximately 30 percent," said managing partner James E. Bartolomei, in a statement. Bartolomei said Lamon's practice will increase the firm's client base in Mercer County, as well as the scope of service available to her former customers.

Lamont, now the chief financial officer of Roma Bank, said in a statement that she selected Bartolomei Pucciarelli to acquire her practice because of its reputation.

"I felt their size, depth and experience would allow them to handle the needs of my clients while still providing a high level of personalized service," she said. "I also knew they had done this well before -- purchased smaller CPA firms with a smooth transition."

The firm is one of six New Jersey affiliates of RAN ONE, a global network of independent accountants specializing in small and midsized businesses. Headquartered in Lawrenceville, N.J., Bartolomei Pucciarelli also has an office in Ocean Township, N.J., and will celebrate its 20th anniversary this year.
