Nitro Updates PDF Professional Software

Nitro PDF Software, makers of the free Nitro PDF Reader, has released some key improvements to its Nitro PDF Professional software focusing on functionality, performance enhancements and usability.

Positioning itself as a cheaper alternative to Adobe PDF products, Version 6.2 of the software includes support for 256-bit encryption and decryption security, conversion of Portable Document Format to multi-page Tagged Image File Format, and user interface panels that respond to the PDF file displayed on-screen.

“Many software companies refrain from adding new functionality until major version releases — typically those that all current license holders would be charged for,” said Nitro senior vice president of sales and marketing Gina O’Reilly. “This release is a response to the evolving needs of our customers and our market. We’re particularly excited to offer this update as it also introduces some of the most popular functionality first debuted in Nitro Reader, such as the integration of our Evernote partner plug-in.”

The update also adds automatic activation of static URLs, converting text to “clickable” hyperlinks; zoom-level indication in the Bookmarks and Pages panels; and automatic display of the most recently viewed page upon opening a PDF file.
