The New Jersey Society of CPAs (NJCPA) announced this week that they are seeking nominees for their Diversity and Inclusion Impact Award by May 19.

The award looks to highlight diverse CPAs; the people who hire, retain, or promote them; and those who have advocated for diverse leadership in the profession.

Non-CPAs and nonmembers of the NJCPA are eligible for the award, as long as they are employed by a company, CPA firm, nonprofit, government office, or are within academia with at least one NJCPA member.

The NJCPA seeks candidates who excel in at least two of the following traits:

  • Influences others
  • Serves as a role model
  • Cultivates diverse teams
  • Innovates and takes risks
  • Accountability
  • External leadership involvement

Achievements from the last two years are encouraged. Candidates may nominate themselves or multiple individuals, with all staff levels invited to apply.

Winners will be selected by a panel of volunteers from the NJCPA. Winners will be announced on June 15 at the NJCPA Convention & Expo at the Borgata in Atlantic City and the NJCPA website. Winners will also be featured in the September/October 2017 issue of New Jersey CPA magazine.
