Atlanta, Ga. (April 14, 2003) - Best Software's Small Business Division has developed a nonprofit industry kit for its Peachtree Complete low-end accounting software.
The nonprofit kit enables Peachtree Complete users to accomplish key tasks germane to the nonprofit industry, such as tracking donations and budgeting. The kit is available bundled with Peachtree Complete 2003, and is available unbundled for use with earlier versions of Peachtree Complete.
The kit includes the ability to customize financial statements to meet nonprofit industry requirements, an "industry specific" chart of accounts, and a manual to help users "maximize" Peachtree features that apply to nonprofits. Areas covered in the manual include working with the Crystal Reports report writer application that is built into Peachtree Complete and includes pre-built reports for managing donor and grantor lists, a critical function for many nonprofits.
The nonprofit kit, which is not available at retail stores, can be purchased from the vendor by calling (800) 228-0068 or visiting www.peachtree.com. The kit bundled with Peachtree Complete 2003 costs $499.95 for a single-user version and $899.95 for multi-users. The vendor did not announce the price for the nonprofit kit sold separately.
Best Software said a "large number" of nonprofit organizations already use Peachtree Complete, without the kit, to run their organizations, but it did not specify how many. Best also develops a broad line of nonprofit industry software, including accounting and fundraising systems, in a separate Government and Nonprofit Division.
