New York (Aug. 27, 2002) -- MLZ Partners in New York and Stefanou & Company in Washington, D.C. announced Monday that their firms have agreed to merge.

The combined firms will be known as Russell Bedford Stefanou Mirchandani and will have offices in New York, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.

MLZ Partners served mid-market businesses in the New York metropolitan area, focusing on high-tech companies. Stefanou & Company was a member of the Securities and Exchange Commission Practice Section of the AICPA Division of CPA Firms, and provided traditional accounting, auditing and tax services to public and closely held businesses.

"Our decision to merge…will present our clients with more…trusted advice and timely, quality service," said MLZ Partners’ managing partner Kishore Mirchandani.

"We will now have the resources to devote to solving the most complex business problems that may confront the clients of either firm," added Stefanou & Co. managing partner Peter Stefanou.

The new firm will continue its membership in Russell Bedford International, an association of independent accounting and consulting firms.
