Ohio CPAs Create Free Online Job Board

The Ohio Society of CPAs has launched a free online job-listing service to connect businesses with contract CPAs during the recession.

The Per Diem Job Board aims to help businesses that have needed to scale down their professional workforce as a result of the economic downturn, yet still need accounting professionals to handle the day-to-day finances and provide longer-term strategic counsel to help adjust their growth plans.

The board connects CPAs who are available for contract assignments with businesses that need accounting services or strategic business counsel for limited assignments. Businesses seeking the services of a CPA can visit the OSCPA Web site and click on the link for the Per Diem Job Board to search for CPAs with the qualifications to meet their needs.

Employers can search by city for CPAs with experience in a particular practice area, such as corporate, public accounting, government or nonprofit, and select options such as corporate tax, accounting, budgeting or financial planning to find CPAs with specific skill sets.

The search will return the name and contact info for CPAs who are registered with the Per Diem Job Board, along with a brief professional bio and preferred contract rates. All rates are determined by individual CPAs, not by the OSCPA.

“There are many highly qualified and experienced CPAs who are in transition as a result of the recession, and just as many businesses that need their financial skills, but may not be able to hire a full-time CPA,” said OSCPA president and CEO J. Clarke Price.

The Per Diem Job Board is part of the OSCPA’s effort to help its 23,000 members, CPAs in Ohio’s top businesses and public accounting firms, navigate the recession and assist clients in financial recovery.

Other resources include an online Financial Crisis News Center, an expanded online Career Center where the Per Diem board is hosted, and an ongoing schedule of educational events covering economic issues.
