ParenteBeard Merges in Pittsburgh Firm

Regional CPA and business advisory firm ParenteBeard said it would combine practices with Pittsburgh-based McCrory & McDowell effective June 1. Terms were not disclosed.

Going forward McCrory & McDowell will operate under the ParenteBeard brand.

Established in 1951, McCrory & McDowell brings 11 partners and 70 team members to the union. Both firms provide audit, accounting, tax, and consulting services to large and small companies across a variety of industries.  Additionally, McCrory & McDowell’s Dewey & Kaye division, a large nonprofit consulting group, offers strategic planning and executive search services to nonprofit clients.

“This combination capitalizes on the strengths of both firms to create a unique, significant CPA and consulting services firm in the Pittsburgh region, which will benefit our clients, our team members and the larger business community,” said ParenteBeard CEO Bob Ciaruffoli.

ParenteBeard ranked No. 23 on Accounting Today's 2011 Top 100 Firms list with revenues of $163 million.
