Paychex CEO Judge Resigns

Jonathan Judge, president and chief executive at payroll and benefits outsourcing provider Paychex Inc., said he will leave the Rochester, N.Y.-based company effective July 31.

Judge, 56, who said he is resigning to pursue other interests, will serve out his term as a member of the board.

A search for a successor is underway. In the interim, the company has formed an executive committee to lead the company comprising Delbert Humenik, senior vice president of sales and marketing; John M. Morphy, senior vice president, chief financial officer, and secretary; and Martin Mucci, senior vice president of operations.

Judge, who succeeded Paychex founder and chairman Tom Golisano as chief executive in October 2004, previously had served as chief executive at a California tech concern and also spent 25 years with IBM, most recently as general manager of the personal computer division.

Under Judge, Paychex became one of the original members of the Trusted Business Advisor Solutions program of CPA2Biz, the marketing portal for the American Institute of CPAs.

In June, Paychex launched Paychex HR Solutions, a blended services offering that merged the features of its Paychex Business Solutions and Paychex Premier Human Resources options.
