Pennsylvania Firms Merge

Two firms in central Pennsylvania have merged, with Robert J. Moyer, CPA, and the two members of his staff moving to the CPA Associates office in Altoona.

The combined practice will retain the CPA Associates name. Moyer has been practicing since 1985 in Altoona. CPA Associates operates in Altoona, and has two other offices in the area, in Huntingdon and Belleville.

The merger with Moyer's practice occurred on July 13, but CPA Associates recently announced it. "Bob was a practitioner wanting to basically expand his practice," said Wayne Hearn, a partner at CPA Associates. "By merging, he has the strength of a larger firm who provides services to him and his clients. What was good for us was that he was a longtime Altoona CPA, and we wanted the additional volume. It gives him flexibility and the expertise that a larger firm brings to the table."

Hearn declined to disclose financial terms of the deal. Moyer could not be reached for comment.
