David J. Moran and Michael J. Anderson have joined Evensky, Brown & Katz, Coral Gables, as senior vice president and associate advisor, respectively. Moran brings over 10 years of experience in financial planning, and is also the owner of RTA Group, Plymouth, Mass. Anderson is currently pursuing his CFP designation, and has served as an officer in the 82nd Airborne Division.

GEORGIA
Habif, Arogeti & Wynne LLP, Atlanta, has promoted Terri Paulk and Dee Tillman to senior manager; and Yvonne Buchberger, Alison Danford, Chris Davis, Kerry Defler, Jennifer Krueger, Roger Li, Darrell Symons and Jeff Winland to manager. In addition, Jennifer Balleza, Sandra Owens and Misty Wilson have been promoted to senior.

ILLINOIS
Sheldon P. Holzman, a member of KGN Financial Group, Chicago, has been appointed to the AICPA’s Joint Trial Board for a three-year term. The board is responsible for bringing to trial AICPA members who have violated the institute’s code of ethics. Member Noel Hastalis has been named chair of the Illinois CPA Society’s Annual Real Estate Conference, while manager Dan McMahon was appointed to the ICPAS’s Accounting Principles Committee. In addition, Joseph DeMarco has been promoted to manager; he joined the firm in 1995.

INDIANA
Katz, Sapper & Miller LP, Indianapolis, has hired a number of staff accountants: John Henne, Randy Hooper, Mary Russell, Kelly Spaulding and Derek Tatter.

IOWA
Steven W. Campana, of Doyle & Keenan PC, Davenport, has been awarded the Accredited in Business Valuation designation by the AICPA. ... Patrick A. Henrichsen has joined McEnroe McCarthy & Gotsdiner PC, West Des Moines, as an associate. ... Angela C. Newton has been promoted to vice president and chief accounting officer of Principal Financial Group, Des Moines. ... Michael A. MARYLAND
Michael Golden has recently joined KAWG&F, Baltimore. He will specialize in construction services and nonprofit organizations. Golden previously spent several years with Hertzbach & Co.

MINNESOTA
Kenneth H. Vohs has been elected president of Olsen Thielen & Co. Ltd., St. Paul and Minneapolis. He joined the firm in 1974, and has served as chairman for the past nine years. The firm also elected Stephen N. Sarracco to serve as chairman, Kelly M. Salwei as secretary, and Jeffrey L. Hanson as treasurer. ... Brian Schebler, a partner in the National Office of Audit & Accounting of McGladrey & Pullen LLP, Bloomington, has been named to the AICPA’s State and Local Government Expert Panel.

MISSOURI
Brandon D. Harsell and Albana Pepaj have joined Swink, Fiehler & Co. PC, St. Louis, as staff accountants.

NEW JERSEY
Kevin M. Barcelona has been promoted to principal at Rothstein, Kass & Co. PC, Roseland, where he will focus on
financial services and RK Consulting, the firm’s administration and outsourced accounting affiliate. He joined the firm in 1995, and was most recently a director in RK Consulting. ... Schonbraun Safris McCann Bekritsky & Co. LLC, Roseland, named four new principals. Stuart Backer joined the firm in 2002 when it acquired O’Reilly, Baime, Walch & Backer LLC; he was previously director of the Emerging Business Group. John J. Luongo joined in 1998, and has more than 18 years of experience in finance, real estate, accounting and tax. Joseph L. Ottaiano joined in 1998, and focuses on real estate due diligence and forensics engagements. Jeffrey N. Strauss has more than 15 years of experience in accounting, and is the firm’s director of lease audit services.

Robert J. Masiello has joined Eisner & Lubin LLP, New York, as marketing director. He has worked in PR for over 30 years, and previously worked for the Industrial & Technology Assistance Corp. of New York, and for Borg-Warner Security Services.

NORTH CAROLINA
Bill Dameworth, director of the North Carolina Business Valuation and Litigation Services Group of Dixon Odom PLLC, High Point, was awarded the Outstanding Discussion Leader and 5.0 Discussion Leader Awards at the 2003 NCACPA Annual Awards Banquet, in recognition of his skills as an instructor.

OHIO
Robert Greenwald and Mary Ann Gehringer have joined SS&G Financial Services, Cleveland, as directors. Greenwald and Gehringer, along with eight professional staff members, formerly comprised the Litigation Support Department and the Audit Department of Bick Fredman & Co.; all will now become part of SS&G’s northeast Ohio operations.

PANAMA
James P. Wesberry Jr., a CPA based in Mexico City, was named the “Contador Benemerito de las Americas” (“Most Meritorious Accountant in the Americas”) at the 25th Interamerican Accounting Conference, held in Panama in early September. Wesberry is only the third CPA from the U.S. to receive the award; he currently directs USAID’s Project Atlatl, which is designed to help in Mexico’s efforts to fight corruption.

PENNSYLVANIA
Anthony J. Matern has joined Millon Financial Services, Drexel Hill, as an investment manager. He previously worked for The Vanguard Group, and for Sunoco. ... Patricia A. Domzalski has joined Kreischer, Miller & Co., Horsham, as litigation support services practice leader. She had previously worked for KPMG, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Day & Zimmerman Inc. ... Michael F. DeStefano has been promoted to manager, Audit Services Group, and Christopher M. Farah has been promoted to supervisor, Small Business Services Group, at Reinsel & Co. LLP, Wyomissing. DeStefano joined the firm in 1995, and has been with audit services since 1997. Farah joined in 2001, when it merged with Kurtz, McNaney & Co. In addition, the firm announced the following promotions: Shane M. Mathias, Amy L. Weller and Sarah L. MacAdam, to advanced senior accountant; and Maria K. Adams, Edward R. Zaboski, JoAnne M. Jane Searing has been promoted to principal in the Tax Practice of Clark Nuber, Bellevue. She will focus on tax planning for nonprofits, charitable giving strategies and communicating with the Internal Revenue Service.

The Mercadien Group
A Financial services organization based in Princeton, N.J., has celebrated its 40th anniversary. The firm’s origins date back to Esmond Druker’s joining Freedman & Co., a CPA firm in Princeton; through a series of buyouts and mergers, the firm became Druker, Rahl & Fein in 1992, the partners of which formed The Mercadien Group in 2000. The firm has 75 employees.

GEORGIA
Polaris North American Network, Duluth, announced that Pannell Kerr Forster PC, Wash., D.C., has joined the association.

MINNESOTA
McGladrey & Pullen LLP, Bloomington, has had its registration with the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board approved.

MISSOURI
