Allenbrook Inc., Brunswick, has appointed Charles M. Peck as president, succeeding Euan Menzies, who will continue his role as chief executive officer of AMS Group. Peck was most recently CEO of theglobe.com, and before that was a senior vice president at the AICPA.

Ronald L. Loberfeld has been appointed managing partner of Abrams Little-Gill Loberfeld PC, Chestnut Hill. He will also be responsible for the firmÕs marketing activities.

Michigan
Mark Bealin has been appointed managing director of the Detroit office of Jefferson Wells International. He was previously a partner with CSC Consulting, a division of Computer Sciences Corp., and was part of the leadership of CSCÕs Business Intelligence Practice.

Michelle Pillazki and Laura Marriaga have joined Weeks Holderbaum Huber & DeGraw LLP, Bridgewater, as staff accountants. In addition, Michael A. Hogan will now be associated with the firm in the General Public Accounting Practice, with an emphasis on taxation. ... J.H. Cohn, Parsippany, announced a number of promotions. Noel Agnew, Jay Dunko and Ravi Raghunathan have been promoted to audit manager, and Steve Livell has been promoted to tax manager. Robert Benke, Lorraine Briguglio, Ann Byke, Doug Finkle, Kathy Heading, Robert Trenery Jr. and Lisa Romano have been promoted to tax supervisor, while Tara Del Gavio, Pauline Fong, Sherry McMahon, Dharmendra Parekh, Marc Sandomenico and Abel Svitavsky have been promoted to audit supervisor; Charlene Fink has been promoted to accounting and auditing supervisor, and Michelle E. Halper to supervisor. Renee Rampulla has joined the litigation group at Berdon LLP, New York. She previously worked as a technical manager for the Professional Ethics Department of the AICPA, and lectures as an adjunct at Hunter College.

Ohio
The Akron office of SS&G Financial Services has hired Darlene Root, as an associate, and Cristi Jackson, as a tax processor/administrative assistant, both in the Tax Department. Denise Tomayko has joined the Human Resources and Marketing Departments as an administrative assistant. In addition, the Cincinnati office has hired Ning Sun as an associate in the Tax Department.

Ontario
Bob Lindquist has formed an alliance with Grant Thornton LLP, Toronto, to handle the role of senior forensic counsel. Lindquist will continue as senior managing director of Citigate Global Intelligence & Security.

Pennsylvania
Asher & Co. Ltd., Philadelphia, announced a number of promotions. James M. Kochanski was promoted to manager in the Accounting & Auditing Department; he joined the firm in 2003, and was previously a vice president at MBNA America Bank. Victoria F. Dworski was promoted to manager of Asher Financial Advisors LLC; she joined the firm in 1996. Linda Buckler was made local area network manager of the Technology Department; she was previously technology administrator. Kevin J. Brown was promoted from technology trainer to technology manager; he joined the firm earlier this year.

Smith & Carson, Atlanta, has opened an office in New York City, at 60 East 42nd St., Suite 3415, New York, N.Y., 10165. For the Northeast market, the firm earlier added Bryan Farrell as managing director and regional counsel, and Peter Wolgom as regional director. Both are based in the Manhattan office.

Formed in 1913 after the introduction of the federal income tax, CCH is celebrating its 90th anniversary as a provider of tax law information, as well as the 40th anniversary of its development of accounting software. ... Nykiel Carlin & Co., Schaumburg, has formed a new subsidiary dedicated to buying and selling businesses, as part of a merger with Gregory Financial Group Inc., Arlington Heights. The new affiliate, Gregory Financial Group LLC, will be headed by Gregory A. Lafin, with Nykiel Carlin partner Ray Carlin as managing director.

Massachusetts
Meyers Brothers PC and Joseph D. Kalicka & Co. LLP will merge as of Jan. 1, 2004. The combined firm will practice with 13 partners under the name Meyers Brothers Kalicka PC, and will maintain its existing locations in Longmeadow, Holyoke and Greenfield.

New Jersey
