Kostin, Ruffkess & Co. LLC, Farmington, announced that Richard V. Kretz, managing member of the firm, was recently honored by Central Connecticut State University as the distinguished alumnus of the year. Kretz joined Kostin, Ruffkess & Co. LLC in 1981 and became a member in 1987. In 1993, Kretz was elected managing member of the firm, the youngest member ever to be voted to this position. Kretz is also one of the founders of the Leading Edge Alliance, a nationwide network of major independently owned accounting and consulting firms. Mark A. Jansen has been named Small Business Accountant Advocate of the Year for the St. Louis district of the Small Business Administration.
