Graf as senior account executive in its new Phoenix office. Graf brings over 15 years of experience in business application software.

Florida
Donna M. Bloomer and Associates CPAs, Pensacola, has promoted Kendall J. Chancellor, to accounting supervisor; Joy Lasseter, to information technology manager; and Kathleen F. Rasmussen, to senior accountant. Chancellor joined the firm in 2002, Lasseter in 1996 and Rasmussen in 2001.

Georgia
Chris Etheridge, a partner with Frazier & Deeter LLC, Atlanta, has been selected to serve as co-chair of the Georgia Society of CPAs’ Peer Review Committee. He will be responsible for the peer review program.

Minnesota
Joseph (Leroy) Dennis has been named executive partner for assurance services at McGladrey & Pullen LLP, Minneapolis. Dennis is a 25-year veteran of the firm, and most recently served as the partner-in-charge of audit and assurance for its Western practice. McGladrey also bolstered its tax practice by hiring Catherine Bernard and Rob Kane as managing directors. Bernard brings more than 20 years of experience, including six with Big Four firms, to McGladrey’s Sioux Falls, S.D., office. Kane, who spent more than 13 years with Deloitte & Touche, will work out of the Cedar Rapids, Iowa, office.

Nebraska
Bryan P. Robertson has joined McCarthy Group Inc., Lincoln, as managing director of business valuations. Prior to joining the firm, Robertson was a partner in his own accounting firm.

Nevada
Gary M. Johnson, managing shareholder at Johnson Jacobson Wilcox, Las Vegas, was awarded the Outstanding Alumni Award by the Beta Alpha Psi Fraternity at the University of Nevada Ñ Las Vegas, in recognition of his achievements in accounting. Johnson graduated from UNLV in 1978.

New Jersey
Schonbraun Safris McCann Bekritsky & Co. LLC, Roseland, has named Ingrid Noone and Marci Plotkin as partners. Noone was previously a principal, and has more than 14 years of experience specializing in real estate industry practice. Plotkin has more than 20 years of experience in accounting and the real estate industry. ... The Barson Group, Somerville, has hired M. Elizabeth Doblosky and Eric Malinowski as senior staff. Doblosky brings nine years of experience, and will work in the financial investigation and valuation arena, while Malinowski brings 15 years of public and private sector experience. ... James H. Ruitenberg, a partner with Bederson & Co. LLP, West Orange, has been re-elected to the North Haledon Board of Education for a three-year term.

New York
Vanacore, DeBenedictus, DiGovanni & Weddell LLP, Newburgh and Poughkeepsie, has promoted Anthony J. Scarrone to chief operating officer. In addition, the firm announced that one of its accountants, Rebecca Hasbrouck, has been nominated by the School of Business at SUNY New Paltz as the Outstanding Accounting Student of the Year for 2003. She is in the MBA program.

Virginia
Mary Aldrich has joined Witt, Mares & Co. PLC, Newport News, as marketing director. She brings 14 years of experience in marketing, most recently as marketing manager for the Peninsula Alliance for Economic Development. ... Paul Young, a partner with Goodman & Co., has been elected president of the Richmond Chapter of the Virginia Society of CPAs for 2003-2004. He has worked with the chapter since 1988. In addition, Elizabeth W. Moore, a partner with the firm, has been named the Virginia Small Business Accountant Advocate of the Year for 2003 by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
