ALABAMA

Lisa Robbins, a senior investigator with Dixon Odom’s fraud and forensic office in Birmingham, has passed the Certified Fraud Examiners exam given by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. Robbins has served as the lead investigative accountant in over 75 cases.

CALIFORNIA

Robert L. Golden has been named managing partner of Good Swartz Brown & Berns LLP’s San Fernando Valley office. In addition to his administrative duties, Golden provides accounting, auditing, tax planning and business advisory services to firm clients.

COLORADO

Bondi & Co. LLP CPAs and Management Consultants, Englewood, has added two new CPAs to its staff. Steve Clawson joins the firm after 10 years at two other CPA firms, as well as a stint as a chief financial officer in the mortgage industry, while Jeff Ulrich brings experience from two other regional firms and a banking institution. ... W. Jay Boyd has rejoined Holben Christian Hay & Husman LLC, Denver, as a manager. He had previously left the firm in 1999 to work for Accounting for Success PC, and later joined Capital Access Partners LLC as a managing member.

FLORIDA

Goldstein Lewin & Co., Boca Raton, announced that Robert H. Garick and Robert C. Zeigen have been promoted to principals at the firm. Garick was previously a senior audit manager, and Zeigen was previously a senior tax manager. In addition, the firm announced that Judy J. Lewis has been promoted from tax supervisor to tax manager. ... Donna M. Bloomer and Associates CPAs, Pensacola, has hired David J. Zukerman as supervisory tax accountant, Kendall J. Chancellor as senior accountant, Vicki K. Jernigan and Jonathan D. Hagood as staff accountants, and Polly P. Creekmore as receptionist. The firm also promoted Martha J. Cobb from senior consultant to supervisor, Alyson J. Carlson to senior accountant, and Kathleen F. Rasmussen to semi-senior accountant.

PENNSYLVANIA

Tyler Ridgeway, an associate/business development professional with Kreischer Miller & Co., Horsham, has been elected to serve a three-year term on the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Executive Committee. ... Robert W. Pritchard, an officer and shareholder in Pritchard, Bieler, Gruver & Willison PC, Colmar, has been appointed to the board of the Grandview Health Foundation for Grandview Hospital in Sellersville. In addition, James J. Sernak, a shareholder with the firm, has been appointed to serve as treasurer of the board of directors for CONTACT Bucks County of Richboro, a suicide prevention and elder preventive care organization.

TENNESSEE

Joseph Decosimo and Co. LLP, Chattanooga, has named Joseph Dominic (Nick) Decosimo as managing partner, succeeding Jerry V. Adams, a co-founder of the firm, who will now be senior partner. Joseph F. Decosimo will be senior partner emeritus.

FIRMS

Kaufman Rossin hits 40: Miami-based Kaufman Rossin & Co., one of Florida’s longest running firms, celebrated its 40th year in business on Dec. 16. The firm, started by University of Florida fraternity brothers Jim Kaufman and Jay Rossin as a three-room accounting office in 1962, has grown to include three offices, 19 partners and 140 employees without any mergers or acquisitions. The firm performed its first certified audit for Florida Fill for $100, and that company’s owner is still a Kaufman Rossin client. In 2003, the firm plans to open an office in the Cayman Islands.
