Prior to Stone Carlie, she worked as a tax manager for State & Local Tax Reporting at Mallinckrodt. She has also held tax positions at CliftonLarsonAllen, Deloitte and Ernst & Young and has served as a member of the Council on State Taxation.

Keith Darcy, former executive director of the Ethics & Compliance Officer Association, has joined Deloitte LLP's governance, regulatory and risk strategies enterprise compliance practice as a senior advisor.

Heather Dean, a partner at Hughes Pittman & Gupton in Raleigh, served as delegate to CPAmerica International's 2013 International Group Meeting.

Charles Goessel has been named senior accountant at Scott and Co. Goessel is a CPA and a member of the firm’s Assurance and Advisory Services team, and is based in the firm’s Greenville office. He was with Johnstone Graydon & Thompson CPAs prior to its merger with Scott and Company earlier this year.

UNITED KINGDOM

Hugh Shields has been appointed to executive technical director at the International Accounting Standards Board. Shields, who is a managing director at Credit Suisse in Europe, the Middle East and Africa regions, will step into his new role in March. … Joanna Perry has been appointed chairman of the IFRS Advisory Council. Perry previously was the chairman of the New Zealand Financial Reporting Standards Board, where she served for eight years.
