Sandra Coaker, a member of Warren Averett LLC, has received the American Institute of CPAs Women to Watch – Established Leaders award, during the Alabama Society of CPAs annual Women’s Summit. The award is given to a woman who has made significant contributions to the accounting profession or who demonstrates characteristics that have enabled them to become leaders in the profession.

Darleen Armour has joined BDO Consulting as a director in the Los Angeles office. In this role, Armour brings 25 years of experience in valuing business enterprise, securities and intangible assets to serve the needs of the Southern California market. … Jan Oldenburg, former vice president of physician and patient engagement at Aetna Accountable Care Solutions, has joined Ernst & Young LLP as a senior manager in its Advisory Health Care Practice.

CONNECTICUT

Bret Dooley has been appointed to FASB’s Emerging Issues Task Force. Dooley is a managing director and director of corporate accounting policies at JPMorgan Chase & Co., where he is involved in accounting and disclosure matters affecting the financial services industry, including financial instruments, derivatives, and securitizations. Dooley will serve a five-year, renewable term beginning June 1, 2014.

FLORIDA

Janice Riley has joined CBIZ as a bookkeeper in the Tampa Bay office of CBIZ MHM, LLC. Riley holds over 15 years of bookkeeping experience, most recently working for Warren Averett in Tampa. She will work at the Court Street, Clearwater office.

MARYLAND

Larry Stokes has joined CBM as a technical reviewer and principal. … Jerry Stone has joined PwC as risk assurance partner in Baltimore. He will lead the U.S. Compliance Services group as part of the recently launched Performance Governance, Risk and Compliance practice. He will provide organizations with innovative solutions to unite value protection and value creation and to reduce risk and support growth. His areas of focus within the practice include corporate, regulatory and conflict minerals compliance, in addition to managed monitoring and testing services

NORTH DAKOTA

Rylander, Clay & Opitz LLP has welcomed back Sabrina Najera after her leave from the company. Najera was a tax professional for RCO for more than five years before taking leave and recently rejoined the team.

VIRGINIA

Peter Thacker has been promoted to senior manager at Keiter.

WASHINGTON

Matt Medlin has returned to Seattle and joined Clark Nuber as its newest shareholder. Medlin was previously a partner at Arthur Andersen and KPMG. He will be working in Clark Nuber’s audit and assurance services group, focusing on privately held companies and collaborating with larger firms as they move toward the public markets. His primary emphasis will be on the firm’s technology sector presence as well as expanding services in the general commercial market. Medlin earned his B.A. from Eastern Washington University and has received executive management and leadership training at INSEAD (France) and IMD (Switzerland).

WASHINGTON D.C.

The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board announced that Mark Adler has been promoted to Deputy Director and Chief Trial Counsel in the Division of Enforcement and Investigations, where he will oversee the litigation program.

WISCONSIN

Michael Edwin, a senior living consultant in Wipfli LLP’s health care practice, was recently awarded the Center for Health Administration and Aging Services Excellence’s 2014 Distinguished Service Award.
