Anne Bianchini has been named partner-in-charge of the Marcum LLP office in San Jose, while Nina Quarequio has been named partner-in-charge of the San Francisco office. … Lewis Sharpstone has joined the Los Angeles office of BDO USA LLP as a partner in the assurance practice, where he will serve as the West Region practice leader for the firm’s Nonprofit industry Group.” … Ken Miles, managing partner of NSBN LLP, Los Angeles, has been appointed chair of international accounting and law firm association Alliott Group.



David J. Grindle has joined Simione Macca & Larrow LLP, Wethersfield, as a principal.


Kathie Gottlieb has been named the first female president of AGH LLC, Atlanta.


Blue & Co. LLC announced a number of new hires: In Carmel, Mary Lou Williams has joined the firm as an accounting specialist, Tanner E. McCaw as a staff accountant, John R. Savio as a manager with Blue Benefits Consulting, and Karen S. Couch as a receptionist. In Columbus, Ohio, Gina M. Grote has joined the firm as a senior manager; in Indianapolis, Joshua C. Smith has joined as a senior accountant; in Muleshoe, Texas, Brenda J. Villezcas has joined as an administrative assistant; and in Louisville, Ky., Jennifer D. Baker has joined as an accounting specialist.



Briana Stone has joined the tax team of Dean Dorton Allen Ford PLLC, Louisville, as a Tax Supervisor. In addition, Elizabeth Woodward, director of forensic accounting and litigation support at the firm, was appointed to the Forensic and Litigation Services Committee for the American Institute of CPAs. … The Accounting & Financial Women’s Alliance named the first members of its Women of Influence community. KPM CPAs & Advisors, Springfield, announced a number of promotions: Kevin A. Ailor, Sandra G. Barrera, Jennifer M. Schatzer and Keith M. Seiwert have been promoted to manager; Joshua A. Brock, Paige R. Guempel and Gretchen K. Russell; and Katie S. Fulp, Dave C. Kendall, Brandon H. Talty and Michelle D. Vespa to senior. In addition, staff accountant Kayla J. Kendrick has earned her CPA license, and managing shareholder Jim Lewis was named to the 2016 Biz 417 Biz 100 list of influential business leaders in the area.



Paul Conniff has joined GKG CPAs & Business Consultants, Chestnut Ridge as a partner.



Mary Stucke and Ben Forquer have been named partners at GBQ, Columbus. Stucke has been with the firm since 2007, and Forquer since 2004. … Paul Weisinger, a partner at Walthall CPAs, Cleveland, has joined the board of the Havana Daydreamers, a group of business people interested in cigars and cigar culture that helps fund medical research for men's health concerns through various events.



David “Christopher” Bones, Jonathan Davenport, Hans Hlawaty and Ian Ogami have joined Kernutt Stokes, Eugene, as associates.


G. Scott Myers will be admitted to the partnership at RKL LLP, York, effective Jan. 1, 2017. Currently a manager in the Tax Services Group, Myers joined the firm in 2012. ... John J. Bellardini has joined Schneider Downs & Co., Pittsburgh, as managing director of Schneider Downs Meridian, which specializes in management consulting, corporate restructuring and debt financing. 


Scott Bouchner, a director at Berkowitz Pollack Brant, received the Forensic & Litigation Services Volunteer of the Year Award from the AICPA, while Stacy Preston Collins, a managing director at Financial Research Associates, received the Business Valuation Volunteer of the Year Award, at the annual AICPA Forensic and Valuation Services Conference in Nashville. IN addition, the institute announced its Standing Ovation winners at the conference. (See the story.) … Sean Owens and David Lister have been promoted to member (owner) at KraftCPAs PLLC, Nashville. Owens works in the assurance services practice area, and joined the firm in 2003, while Lister works in the tax consulting and compliance practice, and joined the firm in 2006.


Ed Ryan, managing partner of RyanSharkey, Reston, has been named by the George Mason University School of Business as one of 2016’s 20 Prominent Patriots, which recognizes outstanding alumni.
