Jennifer Tellez CPA joins the REDW tax department team the firm’s Phoenix office as a senior accountant.
William Holder, dean of the Leventhal School of Accounting at the University of Southern California, has joined Cornerstone Research as a senior advisor. He is also the Alan Casden Dean’s Chair and Professor of Accounting. Professor Holder has extensive experience as an expert witness in high-profile trials involving questions of accounting. Joseph Emanuele has joined Hemming Morse LLP as a principal in the firm’s Forensic and Financial Consulting Services Group. He will work from the firm’s Los Angeles and Santa Rosa offices. Emanuele’s practice includes valuation, litigation consulting and financial investigation. Warren Hennagin has been promoted to managing partner at Glenn M. Gelman & Associates.
Randi Jowers has been named partner at Baker Tilly in the firm’s Wilmington office.
Michelle Micheo has joined CBIZ MHM LLC as a tax associate in the Tampa Bay office. Eric Hausman joined as an associate in the audit department. Kimberly Poblete joined the firm as a senior associate in the audit department.

The PhD Project, a program to increase diversity in management, announced the 2014 inductees into its PhD Project Hall of Fame. They are: Dr. Laura L. Hall, Associate Professor of Management Information Systems, University of Texas, El Paso; Dr. Sandra W. Shelton, KPMG Professor of Accounting, DePaul University; Dr. Jerome D. Williams, Professor of Marketing, Rutgers University. Diahann Lassus, president of Lassus Wherley, has been named to the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants inaugural “CPA-List .” Susan Jacobini Harrington has joined Margolin, Winer & Evens LLP as a tax partner.
REDW has hired three new members throughout the firm. Christopher Schmitz joins REDW’s team in Albuquerque as a manager in the Audit and Consulting Department. Veronica Carillo joined a staff accountant in the Audit and Consulting Department. Valerie Martinez joined as an audit assistant.
David Leavitt has joined PwC US as a tax principal in the New York real estate practice. Prior to joining PwC, Leavitt advised clients on wide range of tax matters for Mayer Brown LLP in Chicago. Anchin, Block & Anchin LLP has made several promotions throughout the firm. Yair Holtzman was promoted to partner, Tamir Dardashtian, Esq. moved up to principal. The firm also added Christopher Noble as partner Jean Han has been named partner at Baker Tilly in the firm’s New York office, where he will be a part of the forensic, litigation and valuation services group. EisnerAmper promoted three to partner throughout the firm. The new partners are: Travis Epp, who specializes in assurance and portfolio company audits; Candice Meth, who specializes in audit and tax for not-for-profits; and Sol Zimmerman, who specializes in accounting for private businesses. Leslie Seidman, a recognized expert in accounting, will speak on Thursday, October 23 at the Women’s Global Leadership Summit hosted by the American Institute of CPAs, the world’s largest member organization representing the accounting profession. Walthall CPAs added Dean Lisowski and Maria Nicholas in its Cleveland and Wooster offices respectively. Lisowski joins as a senior staff accountant and Nicholas as a supervisor.

Fred Massanova was also named partner and will work out of the firm’s Philadelphia office. Massanova provides audit services to manufacturing, distribution and technology companies, financial institutions, construction and real estate companies and employee benefit plans. Grant Thornton LLP named Sean Denham office managing partner of its Philadelphia practice. Denham succeeds Wayne Kaplan, who will continue to support the Philadelphia practice as partner-in-charge of Markets and Industries.
Goldin Peiser & Peiser LL promoted Rick Lahr to Tax/IRS Controversy Manager, Gary Peiser to Tax Manager, and Ashley Meller to Accounting/Tax Associate. UHY Advisors-Texas managing director Bill Hickl has been named to the University of Houston Alumni Board of Directors. A 1986 University of Houston graduate, Hickl has been a managing director in UHY Advisors since 1998 and currently serves on the firm’s Executive Committee. Hickl’s focus at UHY Advisors is advising high-net worth individuals and dynamic middle market companies on tax-related matters.
