Carol Fan has joined Hood & Strong LLP, San Francisco, as a tax manager, while Gavin Lau has been promoted to tax manager. Lau has been with the firm for more than a year. … Laura Martinez has been appointed assurance (audit) diversity leader at PwC US.

John Lancaster, CPA, of Porte Brown LLC, Elk Grove Village, has earned the Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional designation from the Institute of Certified Construction Industry Financial Professionals.

Walter Deyhle, CPA/ABV/CFF, MAFF, CFP, CExP, tax practice director at Gelman, Rosenberg & Freedman CPAs, Bethesda, has earned the Certified Exit Planner designation from the Business Enterprise Institute’s Network of Exit Planning Professionals.



Bernard J. Milano, president and trustee of the KPMG Foundation, and president and board member of The PhD Project and KPMG Disaster Relief Fund, received the 2015-2016 American Accounting Association Lifetime Service  Award.



Brian Kristiansen has been promoted to principal, and Lisa Silber and Frans van der Berg to director, at Friedman LLP. … Raphy Soussan joined Anchin, Block & Anchin LLP as a partner, and Marc Nadritch has joined the firm as a director of private equity services. … Brian Stephens has been named national leader for financial services at KPMG LLP, succeeding Scott Marcello, who was recently named vice chairman for the firm's U.S. audit practice. … Thomas G. Butler has joined Janover LLC, Garden City, as senior tax partner.



HBK CPAs & Consultants promoted three senior managers to principals: Melissa Crowley and Joshua J. Zarlenga in Youngstown, and Marcie Curry in Alliance. … Victor B. Szerpicki has joined the Cleveland office of Walthall CPAs as an assurance manager.



Joshua P. Brummett, CPA/ABV/CFF, has been named a partner in Valuation and Litigation Support Services Division of LBMC, Nashville, while Andrew Eckstein has joined the Audit, Tax & Advisory Practice in the Transaction Advisory Services Division as a senior manager. … Elliott Davis Decosimo, Greenville, S.C., is expanding its presence in Tennessee by relocating Marshall Stein to support its banking and financial services in Nashville, and Anthony Dugan to support the practice in Knoxville.



Regina Mayor has been named the national sector leader for the energy and natural resources practice of KPMG LLP, succeeding John Kunasek, who has been named national managing partner of market development. Mayor has been with the firm for nine years, and is based in Houston.



Lisa Cribben, a partner at Wipfli LLP, Milwaukee, has been appointed to the AICPA’s Forensic and Valuation Services Executive Committee for the 2015-2016 year.
