CONNECTICUT

The Financial Accounting Standards Board appointed three new members to the Emerging Issues Task Force: Terri Campbell, managing director at Liberty Mutual Group Asset Management Inc., Jackson Day, director of accounting standards setting at Ernst & Young LLP, and Larry Salva, senior vice president, chief accounting officer and controller of Comcast Corporation.

 

 

GEORGIA

Bob Cross was hired as the new director of technology at Xcentric, LLC, in Alpharetta, Ga. Prior to his new role, Cross led the IT governance, programs and planning at Texas Department of Public Safety. … Christopher Belknap has joined Porter Keadle Moore as a senior manager in the firm’s tax department. Prior to PKB, Belknap worked at Habif, Arogeti & Wynne, where he prepared corporate, partnership and individual tax returns; advised clients on the cash flow impacts of investments and associated dispositions; managed IRS audits; and trained staff on tax and technology issues. Stephen Alsobrook was promoted to senior in the systems department, which advises clients on risk management and control activities related to complex business processes. …Windham Brannon, Atlanta, made six new hires. In its Audit and Tax Professionals Group, Dean Flores, Tim Clancy, Nicole Suk joined as a principal and Catherine Bazley as senior tax manager. G. MAINE

Chad Snow and Eduardo G. Daranyi were promoted to senior managers in the Government Consulting Group at BerryDunn, Portland, while William Richardson and Ryan Wrisley were promoted to manager.  Amy Baum joined the firm as a data coordinator in its marketing group.

 

MARYLAND

Trevor Carter and Travis Hamburg joined Ellin & Tucker Chartered, Baltimore, as staff accountants where they will work in the firm’s audit, accounting and consulting department. Michael O’Heir will be rejoining the department as supervisor. O’Heir started out as a staff accountant in 2007 and was promoted to senior accountant prior to accepting a position out-of-state in the sports management field in mid-2011. Patricia Kirchner and Travis Klein joined the firm’s tax department as staff accountants, while Matthew Pierorazio joined the firm as a part-time professional.

The two will work with the firm’s foreign clients that have an interest in the U.S. Hsu and Qi will provide tax, assurance and financial reporting, as well as outsourced controller services to the U.S. based subsidiaries of foreign owned companies.

ACAT officers and directors serving on the board include: President – Wanda Goodson, vice president – Roy Frick, secretary and treasurer – Donald G. Yoder, director Sharron M. Cirillo, Steven J. Hanson and Daniel E. Setters. Educator directors Christine Giovetti, Michael D. Kinkade and public director Peter M. Berkery. … The Securities and Exchange Commission tapped Andrew J. Bowden as deputy director of the agency’s Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations. Bowden succeeds Norm Champ who was named to head the SEC’s Division of Investment Management in July.

 

WISCONSIN

Jeff Johnson has been named the managing partner of Wipfli LLP’s Spokane office. Johnson will help build the practice and resources in the Spokane area. Johnson will succeed Michael Bell who is retiring after more than 30 years in the industry.
