Steven Eperthener has joined Onisko & Scholz as partner. Carlos Martinez has been named audit manager for Haskell & White LLP’s San Diego practice. The move bolsters the firm’s position in the region’s life sciences, manufacturing and defense industries. Jennifer Dizon, an audit and advisory partner at Hood & Strong LLP, was elected president of the National Association of Women Business Owners in California for 2014-2015. Gumbiner Savett Inc., a Southern California certified public accounting and business advisory firm, has promoted Yunhee Chung, Helena Song and Jane Zhou to senior managers, in the audit and accounting department. CohnReznick’s partner Jeff Bobrosky was recently selected by the San Fernando Valley Business Journal to receive the 2014 Trusted Advisor Award in the practice of accounting. Bobrosky also received a second award in the category of Client Services for his consistently outstanding service.
The Denver Business Journal named Debbi Warden and founder of The Business Manager LLC, as a finalist in this year’s Outstanding Women in Business awards in the small business owner category. The annual awards honor metro Denver’s most influential women who excel professionally through innovation, entrepreneurship, and community leadership. Warden is highlighted in today’s special Outstanding Women in Business section of the Denver Business Journal along with this year’s other 32 finalists and winners. T.J. Bert has been named director of oil and gas at Eide Bailly LLP. Bert is a partner in the firm’s Golden, Colo., office. As director of oil and gas, he will oversee the firm’s delivery of services to businesses in the oil and gas industry.
Dennis Regan, who is a partner at BlumShapiro, has been named the 2014 Volunteer of the Year by The Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce. Regan will be honored at the GNHCC 2014 Annual Business Leadership Awards on October 2.

Kristen Hart has been promoted to senior accountant of the audit and assurance divisions of Riney Hancock CPAs. She joined Riney Hancock CPAs in 2010. Michael Fillman was also promoted to senior accountant of the audit and assurance division of Riney Hancock CPAs. He joined Riney Hancock CPAs in 2013 and provides auditing and assurance services for utilities, HUD-Assisted entities, governmental entities and non-profit organizations.

Mary Rosen, an associate regional director of the Department of Labor will lead a special presentation on fiduciary best practices, hosted by Baker Newman Noyes and The Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce. The event will be held on September 30 and will provide attendees an opportunity to address their most challenging benefit plan questions and learn how to effectively manage their company’s retirement plan.

Howard Barash has joined CohnReznick as a principal in its advisory group. Lisa Thouin a managing director at The Mercadien Group, principal in Mercadien PC, and co-leader of its Nonprofit Services Group, has been elected to the board of trustees of Enable Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals with permanent and chronic physical or cognitive disabilities and senior citizens to live full and independent lives in the community. Stephen LoVullo is celebrating his 40th anniversary as a CPA; serving all those years at Lumsden McCormick. He started his career at the firm in 1974 after graduating from Canisius College in Buffalo, New York. David Kaufman and Craig Rothman have been admitted to Audit Partners at EisnerAmper. Ronald Hegt has joined Janover LLC as a tax partner in the fi rm. Prior to Hegt worked at Hays & Company LLP, where he was a partner and later merged into Crowe Horwath LLP. Philip Church, Nicole Hoby and Sarah Long have joined the professional staff of Kernutt Stokes. Church joins the firm as an associate where he will be providing accounting, tax and consulting services for the firm’s clients. He is in the process of earning his CPA license. Hoby serves as an associate, preparing tax returns and performing audits, reviews and compilations. She is currently working on earning her CPA license. Long joins Kernutt Stokes as a paraprofessional and will be responsible for preparing payroll and trial balance accounting.
Brian McCuller has joined the State and Local Tax Services team at Lattimore Black Morgan & Cain PC, as senior manager in its Nashville office. McCuller is an attorney and a CPA with over twenty years of experience in the state and local tax field. Prior to joining LBMC, McCuller was a managing director in the CBIZ National Tax Office for three years.

Wenli Wang has been appointed the new partner in charge in the offices of Moss Adams LLP’s San Francisco office. Wang succeeds Tullus Miller, who was named leader of the firm’s Financial Services Group this June.
