FLORIDA

Bryan A. Rosenfeld has joined Gerson, Preston, Robinson & Co. PA, Miami Beach, as a senior accountant in the tax department. Previously, Rosenfeld had worked for a number of other South Florida accounting firms. ... The National Association of Black Accountants, Delray Beach, has appointed George Bryan, vice president of finance for Office Depot, as its executive advisor. He will oversee NABA’s newly formed chapter for Broward/Palm Beach.

ILLINOIS

Corbett, Duncan & Hubly P.C., Itasca, announced that Saori Mori and Hedda Illyes have both passed the CPA Exam, and that Dapeng (George) Duaan has received certification as an Information Systems Analyst. In addition, the firm hired Qing Wan for its accounting staff.

IOWA

Torrey M. Wingert, formerly with King Reinsch Prosser & Co. LLP, Sioux City, has joined Bomgaars Supply Inc., Sioux City, as chief financial officer.

Jason T. Baker, shareholder with Richardson & Associates, Omaha, has been appointed to the 2002-2003 CPAConnect Advisory Committee, which sets the goals and guides the activities of CPAConnect, a national network of CPA firms.

OHIO

In addition, Jeffrey Shumway has been named manager of information systems. He had previously served as network administrator and a business systems consultant with the firm. PENNSYLVANIA

RGL Forensic Accountants and Consultants has hired Alan D. Fishbein as manager of underwriting support. Fishbein, who has more than 12 years of experience providing premium and underwriting services to the property and casualty insurance industry, will open the firm’s new Philadelphia office. É Pritchard, Bieler, Gruver & Willison PC, Colmar, has hired Edward A. Bottone to work in auditing and accounting services, and Scott W. Groner as an information technology consultant. The firm also announced that Dianna J. Rienstra of their audit and nonprofit taxation department has received her CPA license.

TENNESSEE

Enterprise Network, Nashville, an alliance of accounting firms, announced that Kevin Poppen has been hired as chief operating officer. Poppen will lead day-to-day operations, as well as heading up the Member Services Division. Poppen had previously worked for McGladrey & Pullen and the McGladrey Network.

TEXAS

Joseph T. Wells, founder and chairman of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Austin, was named to the American Institute of CPAs’ 2002 Business and Industry Hall of Fame. Earlier this year, Wells, who is also a professor at the University of Texas at Austin, received the American Accounting Association’s Innovation in Accounting Education Award.

VIRGINIA

Goodman & Co., Newport News, has hired the following: Stephanie L. St. Clair as a business evaluation specialist; Lana G. Hardy, Cori D. Davenport and Gina M. Iavarone as associates; and Kristin R. Midgett as a marketing associate. The firm also re-hired Kimberly A. Crawley as a senior associate; she had previously worked for Goodman & Co. as an associate.
