Philly-Area Firms Announce Merger

Accounting firm Kreischer Miller, which serves clients in the greater Philadelphia region, has announced that it will merge with neighbor Hege Kramer Connell Murphy & Goldkamp PC in a deal effective July 1.

The combined practice will operate under the Kreischer Miller name and employ nearly 150 people. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Hege Kramer, an accounting firm of 40 people, includes six directors, and was founded 15 years ago.

"The merger combines two firms with very similar cultures, where team member and client-centric values drive success," said Kreischer Miller's managing director Stephen Christian, in a statement. "Our offices are in the same building, our client bases are compatible and our team members' qualifications are complementary. A combination was a logical next step."The firm's industry specialties include manufacturing and distribution, construction and real estate, newspapers and publishing, government contracting, professional service firms, long-term health care, and the not-for-profit industries.
