Platt to Lead Upstream Midwest

Chicago (Nov. 26, 2003) -- Michael Platt, founder of AccountingWeb Inc., is stepping down as chief executive of the online portal to head Upstream Midwest -- a consulting practice of CPA firm William F. Gurrie & Co. Ltd., based here.

Platt will be charged with growing that business throughout Illinois and Indiana for Gurrie, as well as implementing its Blueprint for Excellence client improvement program.

Platt founded AccountingWeb in 1999 as an “online community” for the accounting profession. He also served as president of Moore Stephens North America from 1997 to1999.

His wife, Kelly McRae-Platt, will succeed him as AccountingWeb CEO. Platt however, will continue as a regular contributor to the portal.
