Prager Metis Merges in Mayer CPAs

Prager Metis CPAs has expanded its presence on Long Island by merging in Mayer CPAs.

The deal, announced Monday, takes effect immediately. The firm, based in New York, ranked 72nd on Accounting Today's 2016 list of the Top 100 Firms, with $50.78 million in annual revenue.

As part of the deal, the four partners of Mayer CPAs—Robert Mayer, Stuart Mayer, Mark Ackerman and Mary Mooney—are joining Prager Metis as partners. Robert Mayer, managing partner of Mayer CPAs, will become partner in charge of Prager Metis’s Long Island office, which will remain at Mayer CPAs’ current address in Woodbury, N.Y. Stuart Mayer will be partner in charge of the fashion and digital media practices of the combined firm. Ackerman will join the Estates and Trust Committee, and Mooney will assist with training the staff and overseeing workflow.

“This merger will allow many of the administrative duties to be taken on by Prager Metis, allowing each partner to apply their time to increased advisory services and focus on clients,” said Robert Mayer in a statement.

Barry Pulchin and Olga Averin of Prager Metis and their litigation services team will be relocating to the larger Long Island office. Prager Metis CPAs has eight offices and provides a range of accounting, audit, business management and consulting services.
