Client Hub debuts mobile app for simpler client collaboration

Client Hub, a collaboration platform for accounting professionals and clients, has released an app now available for Apple and Android devices. Client Hub offers an “all-in-one workspace” with secure messaging and file sharing between accountants and clients; the app version will provide instant notifications for all users, allowing firms to get faster responses to their requests for information and files, and to be more responsive to client questions.

Boxstorm Ultimate now supports Shopify and Shippo

Boxstorm Ultimate, an online inventory management solution that integrates with QuickBooks Online, now offers integration with Shopify and Shippo. With Shopify, businesses can receive orders on their website that are then automatically entered into Boxstorm and the inventory is updated, reducing human error related to manual order entry and inventory tracking. Shippo provides online shipping integration within Boxstorm Ultimate to prepare shipping labels for a number of different carriers and automatically includes shipping cost and tracking numbers within Boxstorm. Boxstorm Ultimate is made by Fishbowl.

Zoho Books now offers VAT filing and simplified MTD compliance

Zoho’s cloud accounting application, Zoho Books, can now be used to submit value-added tax returns under the U.K. government’s Making Tax Digital (MTD) program. Businesses will be required to use the MTD system from April 2019 if their turnover is above the VAT threshold; the government has suggested that the scope will widen from 2020 as part of its objective to encourage digital record keeping. In addition to managing their accounting, Zoho Books users are able to submit their periodic VAT returns to U.K. tax authorities.
