Ramstad Joins alliantgroup

Former Congressman Jim Ramstad, R-Minn., has joined the specialty tax firm alliantgroup as a senior advisor.

Ramstad is the latest high-profile addition to the firm, joining former IRS Commissioner Mark Everson and former Senate Finance Counsel Dean Zerbe in the company’s leadership ranks.

“I’m proud to be associated with alliantgroup and the critical service they provide not only to businesses, but to our economy and to the creation of American jobs,” said Ramstad in a statement. “Helping small and midsized companies grow has been a focus of my career and alliantgroup is dedicated to that same mission.”

Ramstad served in Congress from 1991-2009. He was chairman of the IRS Oversight Subcommittee, a senior member of the tax-writing House Ways and Means Committee and the Small Business Committee, a member of the Health and Trade Subcommittees and the Joint Economic Committee, and co-chair of the House Medical Technology Caucus. In addition, he was a resident fellow at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, and an adjunct professor of government at American University.
