Reznick Principal Receives Red Cross Life Achievement Award

Bill Riley, a principal in the Baltimore office of Top 100 Firm Reznick Group, received the American Red Cross' Life Achievement Award on March 31, at the 13th Annual Red Cross Hometown Heroes ceremony.

Riley was the driving force behind the creation of Reznick Group's Community Outreach Day, in which employees dedicate a full day to helping a variety of educational and charitable organizations within their local communities. Riley also supports the Friends of Rigby Foundation, has mentored students at Georgetown University's School of Business, leads Reznick Group's National Social Impact Committee, and started the Annual Charity Golf Tournament in Reznick Group's Baltimore office.

2011 marks the tenth anniversary of Reznick Group's Annual Charity Golf Tournament which began as a fundraiser to help support a Reznick Group employee's son who was diagnosed with a rare blood disease. Riley started the tournament to help defray some of the family's costs for medical treatment. Since then, the event has brought in over 100 golfers per year, with all proceeds raised going towards various local nonprofit organizations. This year, Reznick Group will support the Maryland Coalition for Inclusive Education, a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to the inclusion of students with disabilities in their neighborhood schools.

"I am honored and humbled to have been selected by the Red Cross for a Life Achievement Award," said Riley. "Without the enthusiasm and generosity of my Reznick Group team, this level of charitable involvement would not have been possible. This award is in honor of everyone who has touched my life."

A principal with Reznick Group since 1979, Riley recently served as co-managing principal of the Baltimore office. He was recently elected chairman of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce and is immediate past chair of the Maryland Association of CPAs. He holds a BS in Accounting from Georgetown University.
