RIA Forges Licensing Deal with AICPA

New York (July 18, 2003) -- RIA announced Thursday that it has inked a deal with the American Institute of CPAs to offer the institute’s professional library on Checkpoint, the company’s online tax and accounting research tool.

Checkpoint users will now be able to access the AICPA’s Professional Standards, Technical Practice Aids and selected technical guides, such as its Audit and Accounting Guides and Audit Risk Alerts.

“We are pleased to enter into this alliance with the AICPA,” said Mark Schlageter, general manager of RIA Information/Online, a Thomson business. “With the addition of the AICPA’s valuable, well-respected resources, we now have the most comprehensive and complete source for accounting and auditing information that complements our WG&L analysis.”

“The partnership between AICPA and RIA allows us the opportunity to bring valuable materials to Checkpoint,” says Robert Bouchard, vice president marketing, sales, and product development for AICPA and the former vice president of new product development for Thomson West, a unit of Thomson Corp. “This will create greater access to our resources for accounting professionals around the country.”

Other Checkpoint partners include BNA, the Financial Accounting Standards Board, Comtax and Practitioners Publishing Co.
