Rosen, Sapperstein & Friedlander Acquires SHR Associates

Accounting and consulting firm Rosen, Sapperstein & Friedlander, LLC has acquired SHR Associates, Inc., a regional health care consulting firm based in Annapolis, Md.

As part of the deal, SHR president and CEO Nancy Smit has joined RS&F as a partner. In this role, Smit, a medical practice management executive with over 30 years of experience supporting physicians, hospitals, community health centers, and other health care organizations, will oversee RS&F Healthcare Advisors, or RSFHA.

“Our acquisition of SHR Associates, Inc. complements RS&F’s overall healthcare service offering so we can now assist healthcare clients through revenue enhancement, practice expansion advisory, operations assessments, risk reduction, and more,” said RS&F director Jeffrey Rosen in a statement. “This investment enhances our ability to position clients for growth and success, offering the most comprehensive business advisory, consulting, accounting, auditing, and tax services along the East Coast. It’s an honor to have the SHR team join RS&F. Not only are they the best at what they do, but they share our values and truly care for their clients.”

RSFHA offers a variety of services for the strategic, operational and accounting needs of health care organizations. They include strategic planning, merger and acquisition advisory, business planning, corporate structure analysis, and capital formation; specialized health care services, including practice administration, compliance plan and coding audits, revenue cycle management, fee schedule and relative value unit analyses, and operational assessments; practice organization, including marketing, human capital evaluation, and IT; and accounting and tax services, including audits, estate planning, tax strategies, and partner disputes.

“As health care reimbursement changes from rewarding volume to rewarding value, we help physicians and healthcare practices adapt,” said Smit. “Merging services with RS&F allows us to provide the full spectrum of strategic, accounting, financial, and operational services our clients need to be successful, grow profits and remain compliant. RSFHA is now positioned to better solve one of the biggest struggles for health care practitioners today: adjusting to a system with a renewed emphasis on patient quality and provider efficiency.”

RSFHA’s practice management consultants and certified coders work with physicians, clinics, practice groups, public health providers and hospitals.
