Tax document automation provider Copanion Inc., makers of the GruntWorx line, has named technology industry veteran Stephen Royal to the post of chief financial officer, effective immediately.
Royal comes aboard Copanion after serving as CFO at radio frequency ID provider OATSystems, which was recently acquired by Checkpoint Systems. Royal's resume also includes stints at intelligence software concern CXO Systems, and Net To Net Technologies.
At Copanion, he will report to company founder and CEO Steven Ladd. Royal's appointment comes on the heels of the company entering a pair of automation alliances with Intuit and Thomson Reuters.
