RSM McGladrey Expands in Indiana Market

RSM McGladrey has acquired the non-attest practice of Stauffer & Co. LLC. In a separate deal, McGladrey & Pullen LLP acquired the attest practice of Stauffer.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

RSM McGladrey has three Indiana offices located in Elkhart, Goshen and South Bend. The acquisition will expand the firm's Indiana workforce to approximately 100 people, making it one of the largest financially-focused organizations serving midsized businesses in the region.

"Stauffer & Co. and RSM McGladrey have highly complementary practices with respect to industries served, skill sets and personnel," said RSM McGladrey senior vice president of operations Doug Opheim, in a statement. The Stauffer practices hope the deals will extend their reach into midsized manufacturers and not-for-profit organizations.

Both the RSM McGladrey and McGladrey & Pullen operations will be located at Stauffer & Co.'s current location in Goshen.

Earlier this year, RSM McGladrey acquired the non-attest services, of King of Prussia, Pa.-based CPA firm Mantas, Ohliger, McGary & Quinn. RSM McGladrey ranked No. 9 on Accounting Today's 2005 list of Top 100 Firms, with revenues of $385 million. With its October 2005 acquisition of American Express Tax and Business Services, it will have combined estimated annual revenues of more than $1 billion.

McGladrey & Pullen is a partner-owned CPA firm that delivers audit and attest services. The two companies work together through an alternative practice structure.
