RSM Seeks to Acquire Philadelphia-Area Firm

In a strategy to boost its presence in the Philadelphia market, RSM McGladrey is in the process of acquiring the non-attest services, of King of Prussia, Pa.-based CPA firm Mantas, Ohliger, McGary & Quinn, according to documents obtained by WebCPA.
A RSM representative declined to comment on the pending union.

MOMQ provides accounting, tax and a number of consulting services and clients in such fields as financial services, manufacturing and distribution, health care, construction and real estate.

If completed, the MOMQ buy would be decidedly smaller than RSM's previous acquisition --the $220 million purchase of American Express Tax and Business Services that closed in October. That acquisition doubled RSM's workforce to more than 5,000.
