Rubin, Brown, Gornstein Names Herber MP, Castellano Chairman

St. Louis (June 3, 2004) -- Top-ranked accounting firm Rubin, Brown, Gornstein & Co. has named John F. Herber Jr. managing partner, succeeding James G. Castellano, who was named chairman.

Castellano, who has served at the helm of RBG since 1989, said the move is part of an overall succession plan that has been in the works for four years. Castellano served as chairman of the American Institute of CPAs from 2001 to 2002. He joined RBG in 1973.

“John and I have been working together closely for the last few years to prepare for this transition," Castellano said in a statement. "We will both continue to actively serve clients while leading RBG in our distinct roles within the firm.”

Herber, who joined RBG in 1987, serves as partner-in-charge of the firm's assurance services group and serves clients in the distribution, manufacturing and service industries. He was elected assistant managing partner of RBG in 2000.

RBG ranked No. 51 on the 2004 Accounting Today Top 100 Firms list, with revenue of $30.03 million.
