St. Louis-based accounting firm RubinBrown LLP has acquired Henderson, Warren and Eckinger PC PA, one of the largest locally owned firms in Kansas City. Terms of the merger were not disclosed.
Combined, the two offices will have more than 320 team members working in Kansas City and St. Louis under the RubinBrown name.
"This is an ideal union of industry expertise, commitment to service and geographic reach," stated RubinBrown chairman James G. Castellano, in a statement. "We have been exploring expansion opportunities in Kansas City for some time, and HWE is the perfect fit."
HWE managing partner Ed Warren said that the firm made the deal believing their customers could benefit from increased services and expertise on both sides of the state.
Founded in 1981, HWE has 25 employees and four partners and deals primarily with privately held companies in the construction, automotive, manufacturing, retail, distribution, medical, legal and not-for-profit industries.
RubinBrown's Todd R. Pleimann, partner-in-charge of Kansas City operations and a partner in the Assurance Services Group, has relocated to Kansas City to initially oversee the transition and integration of services.
RubinBrown was ranked No. 58 on Accounting Today's 2005 list of Top 100 Firms, with annual revenues of about $31.5 million.
