Sage, Microsoft VAR Britec Merges with Empower

Sage North America and Microsoft Dynamics reseller Britec Computer Systems Ltd. has merged with British Columbia-based Accpac VAR Empower Business Solutions Inc., the combination of which will add to Britec’s overall Accpac client base.

Britec is among Accounting Today’s VAR 100 and represents accounting and ERP products including Sage Accpac ERP, BusinessVision, and Dynamics NAV.

In the combined company, Britec president Roger Katarey will continue in that role, while Empower founding partner Elaine Marshall will join Britec as a senior consultant, and partner Jeff Campbell will join Britec as an account executive/senior consultant. In addition, senior consultant Terri Orchard will join Britec  in the same role. Britec operates seven regional offices in Victoria, Vancouver, Kelowna, Calgary, Edmonton, London and Toronto.

“Clients are calling for more options when implementing accounting and business systems, and they want solutions from one source that integrate their operations using value integration modules, application software that deliver business intelligence, networks and infrastructure technologies, back-end services such as secure connections and redundant servers,” said Katarey. “These tools enable clients to process daily business events and provide rich information to management with efficiency, effectiveness and economy. By combining the skills of the Empower analysts, developers and implementers with Britec’s expert team, product lines, knowledge and experience—along with industry leading software and hardware—Britec can better realize this vision.”
